Planet Earth Group™ is the project management arm of Planet Earth Co™, developing practical initiatives for restoring, building, and living in greater correspondence with Earth’s living systems.We approach development from two complementary directions: learning from nature to improve existing systems, and investigating the deeper principles of coherent organisation to design better systems.

Projects

Planet Earth Group works across three interconnected areas of human life: Power, Provision, and Place.Power encompasses the energy, materials, and industrial systems that enable society to operate.Provision encompasses the food, water, biological, and material resources that sustain it.Place encompasses the buildings, land, settlements, and habitats in which we live.Across each area, our projects follow three complementary modes of action: Restore what already exists, Design what could exist, and Build new systems and environments.This framework defines the scope of our work, from restoring degraded ecosystems and energy systems to regenerative technologies, production systems, and habitats.

Project Examples

The following projects illustrate examples of Planet Earth Group’s work across Power, Provision, and Place.

Power

Emerging Algae Biofuel Technology — AustraliaA project to assess and introduce an emerging biomimetic energy technology to the Australian market.Working with a client, we evaluated a range of emerging energy technologies before selecting a US-based biotechnology company developing bioengineered microalgae for low-carbon fuels. Backed by leading international investors including Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Chevron, and United Airlines Ventures, the technology offered a compelling intersection of biology, energy, and commercial potential.We assisted with developing the pathway into Australia, connecting the company with key industry stakeholders, potential partners, and government representatives. The process ultimately supported the establishment and registration of an Australian business presence.

Provision / Place

Experimental Living Systems Project — AustraliaAn early experimental project involving the management and development of a rural site incorporating accommodation, gardens, food production, natural landscapes, communal facilities, and supporting infrastructure.The site had previously been managed using unsustainable practices, leaving parts of the land and soil depleted. The project explored how the site could be restored and developed as a more productive and integrated system, bringing together land regeneration, food production, accommodation, retreat activities, and education.Over time, the site developed into a flourishing productive environment, producing food while providing a setting for learning and demonstrating more sustainable ways of living and working with the land.The project became an ongoing real-world experiment and an important reference point for Planet Earth Group's approach to project management, biomimetics, and Eunomology.

"Eunomology + Biomimetics"

Eunomology provides a metatheoretical framework for investigating how coherent systems emerge and the principles that allow them to remain coherent, adaptive, and viable.Biomimetics draws on nature’s forms, functions, and strategies to inform human technology and design.Biomimetics helps us address specific challenges by learning from strategies that already work in nature. Eunomology works further upstream, examining the principles of coherent organisation that can inform how systems are structured in the first place.The aim is not simply to find better solutions to existing problems, but to develop systems that are better organised from the outset.

About the Founder

Lalita Green is a biomimeticist, founder of Eunomology, and project manager at Planet Earth Group.She combines her experience in project management with biomimetics and Eunomology — using biomimetics to learn from nature’s strategies and Eunomology to investigate the principles underlying coherent systems — to develop practical projects across disciplines.
